The Process


This effort is designed to be a campuswide, ongoing process, continuously welcoming new ideas to support the University of Utah's aspirations. Faculty and staff can reach out with an idea, and they will be connected to the appropriate workstream leader. If you have an idea, reach out to OperationalExcellence@utah.edu to learn more.

The Operational Excellence Team uses the following three-phase approach to help develop projects:

 

 

Phase 1: Aspirational Assessment

What Could We Do?

  • Identify potential opportunities to enhance the university’s mission and financial impact.

Phase 2: Operational Excellence Planning

What Will We Do?

  • Support project owners in the development of detailed projects and business cases, including the formation of implementation plans with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for tracking and elevating progress.

Phase 3: Implementation

Let's Do It!

  • Execute the developed projects within the assigned workstreams and with the support of project owners.
